Affirming Church Directory

"The intent of our Affirming Church Directory™ is to provide an online directory so people can locate and visit welcoming Christian churches around the world. We list congregations that meet on a regular basis in a physical location for worship, prayer, service and fellowship. All churches in this directory have confirmed that their congregation, in some form or fashion, is an affirming Christian church. We define the word “affirming” as meaning the church does not view homosexuality in and of itself as a sin, and therefore they would welcome and treat a homosexual person no differently than any other person who walked through their church doors seeking Christ. We also believe that a fully affirming congregation allows ALL people the ability (as much as denominational polity allows) to be involved in all aspects of the life of the community, including ordaining LGBTQ+ folks to ministry and performing same-sex marriages.

AIDS Action Baltimore

(AAB) is dedicated to providing patient services, including financial assistance, research, treatment access advocacy and HIV prevention services, including PrEP for all people with HIV and infection in the Baltimore metropolitan area. AAB programs are designed to empower people with HIV infection to advocate and care for themselves, to access the latest HIV treatments and clinical trials, and to live with hope and dignity. Free-State Justice

"FreeState Justice provides legal services to low-income lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Maryland residents.
We provide assistance with the following types of cases:

• Name changes


• Gender marker changes on birth certificates or State-issued identification


• Discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity in employment, housing, health care, school, public accommodations, and prisons/detention centers


• Family law matters, including divorce or dissolution, child custody, child support, adoption


• Legal protection from harassment or harm, including intimate partner (domestic) violence"

GLSEN Maryland

"GLSEN Maryland is Maryland's chapter of GLSEN, the leading national organization championing LGBTQ issues in K-12 education. After being named GLSEN Baltimore for over a decade, the chapter recently officially became GLSEN Maryland, recognizing its growth into a statewide organization. GLSEN Maryland serves students and schools in all 24 counties in Maryland, although heavy focus is placed on Baltimore City and rural areas of the State. Our mission is to ensure all Maryland schools are safe and welcoming for all students, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression."

Hearts And Ears

"Hearts & Ears, Inc. is a non-profit organization for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning, and Gender Non-Conforming individuals with behavioral health issues and concerns. We warmly welcome all sexual and gender minorities. People who are dually stigmatized can have a difficult time finding full acceptance from others. Hearts & Ears aims to be a community where LGBTQIA+ individuals can feel safe, supported, and welcomed. Friends, family and community members are encouraged to attend.
